Services

Services: Individual

I provide psychotherapy to individuals who are experiencing challenges in their daily lives. When you feel as though you don’t know what else to do, reaching out and getting help through counseling can often be the best alternative.

Through psychotherapy and counseling services, I provide support, education and the space to explore those issues that might be contributing to your struggles. When things seem the most difficult, I hold hope that things can and will change. Together we will identify the changes to be made and create a plan to make those changes.

My approach is calm, compassionate, yet direct. I draw on your strengths  – and together we will look at what is working and how best to utilize that knowledge to apply it to all aspects of your life. That way, you will not only gain insight into some of the history that contributes to your current patterns and beliefs, but we will begin to challenge some of that history to encourage your evolution. We will also develop skills to help you cope with circumstances that, at times, seem unmanageable.

Servces: Child/Adolescent

I specialize in working with children and adolescents who are experiencing many challenges – such as school performance, relationships with family and friends, or self-esteem. Perhaps your child is withdrawing, not interacting as usual with friends and family, getting into more fights or trouble, or struggling with self-confidence. Sleeping and eating habits and other daily routines may be affected as well. When you feel as though you are at a loss, reaching out and getting help through counseling can be the best alternative.

Sometimes your child may be resistant to being “sent” to counseling. I am experienced in and appreciate the process of developing relationships with those who may be tentative or skeptical of counseling.

Depending on your child’s age and level of development, your child and I may spend most of our sessions talking together. For children who are younger or for those who don’t have insight about their issues, we may participate in other activities including playing games, moving our bodies, and doing art that will allow alternative ways for your child to express him/herself.

Services: Parenting Family

Through psychotherapy and counseling services, I provide support, education, and the space to explore what issues might be contributing to transitional struggles that occur within families. When things seem the most difficult, I hold hope that things can and will change. Together we will identify the changes you and your family want to make and create a plan to implement those changes.

We will discuss your history to discover and gain insight as to how that history contributes to your current patterns and beliefs. And then we will begin to challenge some of that history to encourage the evolution within your family – to make each day as you would like it to be. Certainly, a change in one area affects other areas eventually allowing each of you to work calmly together.

It’s the guidance and support of a caring therapist that will help your family to cope with circumstances when they seem unmanageable.

In the end, my only goal, as a therapist, is to work with all of my patients to help each of them achieve a well-balanced, workable and, most important, peaceful approach to daily life. Only then will I feel as though I’ve done my job to the fullest.
